The new one pound coin is released on Tuesday and some shoppers, drivers and commuters could find their pounds rejected. Trolleys, vending machines, and parking meters all need upgrading to accept the new coin, and it's causing a headache for some companies.
Adam Williams, the owner of Llandudno Pier, spoke to Sam Walker and explained the difficulty the new coin is causing at his amusement arcade.
He said: "We've been working tirelessly now for six months to change all the equipment."
Estimating how much the work has cost, Adam added: "We're in the tens of thousands...at least up to fifty thousand already."
Reflecting on the cost to the industry, Adam said: "I think we're going to start to lose some of these single site operators because they're not profitable anymore."
