An audience of leavers and remainers debated whether leaving the EU would make Britain a more tolerant country.
5 live's Tony Livesey invited 50 people - from all walks of life - to come together and share their vision for Britain.
The debate took place at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Philharmonic studio in Salford, ahead of Theresa May's official triggering of Article 50.
"There's a different between racist and being loyal to your own country," said leave voter David Williams. "We want people to come and improve our country."
