Zlatan and Totti show Defoe can still have England impact 鈥� Mills
Former England defender Danny Mills says the longevity of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Francesco Totti show that 34-year-old Jermain Defoe can still perform the highest level.
The Sunderland striker made a scoring return to the England side after a three-year absence in the 2-0 World Cup qualifying win at Wembley, and Mills believes 35-year-old Ibrahimovic and Totti, 40, can act as inspirations.
鈥淶latan is still being fantastic at 35, Totti is still managing to play for Roma at 40,鈥� said Mills.
鈥淲e took Teddy Sheringham to the World Cup in 2002 at 36.
鈥淚f he [Defoe] is in good form, why not? [consider him for the World Cup]鈥� he added.
