What does a 500-year-old carol sound like?
A recently discovered medieval carol which was once sung by the monks of Battle Abbey in East Sussex has been set to music for the first time in 500 years. In the middle ages, carols were not exclusive to Christmas, they would have been sung and even danced to during social occasions all the year round. Kati Whitaker was invited to the recording where she met the historian Dr Michael Carter.
First broadcast on Sunday, 2 April 2017.
