Jermaine Jenas says former Manchester United full-back Gary Neville once questioned him on why he had an agent.

Jenas, speaking on the Friday Football Social, said Neville asked him during the 2006 World Cup.

He said: "I remember thinking, 'it's alright for you, at Manchester United!'"

The amount paid by English clubs to agents has risen by 38% in a year but Jenas says they are a 'necessity' for the game and pivotal in helping players to move clubs.
