Could 'clean eating' diets be harming your health?
'Clean eating' diets that cut out vital food groups such as dairy could be leading to health problems in young people, a new study suggests.
Nutritionist Susan Lanham-New scientific advisor to the National Osteoporosis Society, who conducted the survey, told 5 live:
“The study found twenty percent of 18-24 year-olds were cutting out dairy.â€
“You can get a diet that is calcium rich without dairy but you must pay attention to food that are calcium rich but with the purporting of these different diets this is not happening.â€
“There is a concern that as young people are getting older that we are seeing an increase in stress fractures.â€
