Lucas: Theresa May 'running scared' from TV debates
Green Party co-leader Caroline Lucas has told 5 live it looks like Theresa May is “running scared” in her refusal to take part in TV election debates. The Prime Minister repeatedly said she will not be involved in any televised debates in the run up to the snap general election on the 8th of June.
Lucas told 5 live’s Tony Livesey:
"It just isn't right for the Prime Minister to avoid democratic scrutiny in this way.”
“These debates have now become part of our political life."
