Tennis legend Pam Shriver has revealed how she was asked by Ilie Nastase whether she was still a virgin during her years on tour as a teenager. The claims come after the Romanian coach was banned for his comments towards the British Fed team earlier this week. Shriver鈥檚 revelations shed more light on Nastase鈥檚 behaviour, as she recalled her dealings with the former Grand Slam champion from the 1970s. 鈥淎ny time I saw him at any tournament or exhibitions, he would ask me the same question, which is like - are you still a virgin?鈥�

Shriver explained she was only a teenager at the time and the inappropriate behaviour only stopped when she demanded he never do it again. Although Shriver concedes that Nastase鈥檚 comments may have been said in a joking fashion, she stressed that he鈥檇 not been respectful towards women for a long time. She expects Nastase鈥檚 latest comments mean he will lose his job as national tennis coach.
