Lizzie Deignan: I want to retire after UCI Championships
Lizzie Deignan (nee Armitstead) has said she would like to retire after the 2019 Cycling World Road Championships in Yorkshire.
Speaking to Sarah Brett and Nihal Arthanayake she said:
" I think I’d regret not taking part in that but I like the idea of finishing there."
She told Afternoon Edition she had no plans to compete in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo adding:
"There's that elusive Olympic gold medal but I've got a silver I gave it my absolute best shot in Rio"
