Whitehall incident eyewitness: 鈥業 saw knives and brown backpack on the floor鈥�

London police say a man has been arrested on suspicion of planning terrorist acts after an incident in Whitehall. He was stopped yards from Downing Street and was found carrying several knives.

Helen Chandler Wilde was at the scene at the time of the arrest and told 5 live鈥檚 Tony Livesey she saw 鈥渒nives and a brown backpack lying on the floor.鈥�

She also says everyone remained calm and 鈥渞emarkably not scared at all.鈥�

Nobody was injured during the incident.
