Rescuing Chooty: Sri Lanka’s baby elephant orphanage
As Sri Lanka’s human population grows, people are increasingly coming into conflict with wild elephants.
The Elephant Transit ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ in Udawalawe National Park rehabilitates orphaned or sick elephants and releases them back into the wild.
At 10 days old, Chooty Manika, or ‘Little Princess’, is the home’s youngest resident.
