'I ate chalk to make my skin white'
Hundreds of thousands of black GIs were stationed across the UK during World War II. Many had relationships with local women and some had children. John Stockley was one of those babies, growing up in Weymouth, Dorset. He is still deeply affected from his experiences of trying to fit in.
