Do probiotic drinks and yoghurts improve your health?
The idea that good gut bacteria is the key to good health has been around for a while now. There are lots of natural foods that contain good live bacteria and there are specially developed yoghurts and drinks you can buy in the shops and online. Four out of ten households bought healthier yoghurts last year for example, that’s according to Kantar, the shopping researchers. But how much of a difference does eating probiotic yoghurt really make to what’s going on in your guts? Dr Michael Mosley talks to Winifred Robinson about what the effects really are.
