Terry send-off: 'Cheesy pre-planned act of navel-gazing'
鈥淐heesy navel-gazing鈥 or a chance for fans to show respect? Former Premier League striker Steve Claridge and the 蜜芽传媒's Ian Dennis don't agree on John Terry's pre-planned send-off.
John Terry was substituted in the 26th minute of his final game at Stamford Bridge so he could walk off to a guard of honour. Terry admitted he had come up with the idea.
Steve Claridge told 5 live Breakfast: 鈥淚 think he deserves the deference he was shown, he deserves all the plaudits.鈥
However 蜜芽传媒 Senior Football Reporter Ian Dennis took a different view: 鈥淚t鈥檚 self-indulgent. 26 minutes to match the 26 on his shirt. You鈥檇 still get that send off after 86 minutes without a cheesy, pre-planned act of navel-gazing.鈥
