The world's oldest scientific prize the Royal Society's Copley Medal has been awarded to Sir Andrew Wiles.
He was awarded the medal for solving what the Guinness Book of World Records described as the most difficult mathematical problem: Fermat's Last theorem. He explains how he did it.
