Getting divorced? Your car insurance could rise.
Money Box listener Farah says RAC charged her an extra £340 for car insurance when she notified the company that she was divorced, but wanted to keep her ex-husband on the policy for when he visited the children. RAC says the change wasn’t due to her change in marital status, but agreed with the underwriter Co-op to honour the original policy, once Money Box got involved.
