The Lions was not the pinnacle of my career – Woodward
Sir Clive Woodward says playing for and coaching the Lions was not the top of his career.
He played for the Lions on two tours in 1980 and 1983 before taking charge in 2005 but says achievements with England “were what I was all about”.
Woodward suggested the Lions tour is a good thing for the game but “sometimes the Celtic countries put too much stall on it” and “even if you win it doesn’t make you a great coach”.
