Spencer White received a $400 dollar speeding ticket for travelling at 88mph in his 1982 DeLorean sports car on a Californian highway.

In 'Back to the Future', 88mph is the speed at which the car jumps in time - but in California that’s 23mph over the speed limit.

Spencer told 5 live's Phil Williams: "I took it up to 88 and the next thing I know, I am getting pulled over."

Spencer added that the Highway Patrol Officer told him: "I wasn't aware it was a DeLorean when I first clocked you but I still have to do my job."
