UKIP wants to reduce density of pubs but not close any
UKIP deputy leader Peter Whittle says his party wants to spread pubs out and is not advocating closures.
He told Stephen Nolan: "What we're more concerned about is the density, if you like, not actually the number of pubs."
When challenged about what that meant, he said: "Basically, if you have a High Street or whatever, and you have a number of bars very, very close together or one after the other and basically, therefore people gather and they gather throughout the night. We now have pictures don't we, every weekend of basically people often in a real state."
This interview forms part of a series with the main political parties.
