Nick Park: Peter was my first choice to play Wallace
The veteran actor Peter Sallis has died at the age of 96.
Peter was best known for his roles in Last of the Summer Wine, and latterly as Wallace in the animation series, Wallace and Gromit.
Nick Park, is the creator of the animation series. He explained to 蜜芽传媒 Radio 4's PM programme how, as a student film maker, he approached Peter to be the voice of Wallace saying "I was really surprised when he said yes".
He added, "neither of us had any idea what Wallace & Gromit would become".
