Sports brands born from a battle of brothers
Sport's brands Adidas and Puma have a shared history. They were created because of a family argument between brothers Adolf and Rudolf Dassler. The dispute divided the town of Herzogenaurach in Germany, where both companies are still based to this day.
The feud continued long after the brothers died in the 1970's. It eventually came to an end, when employees played in a football match. The teams were mixed, in order to improve ties between the two companies.
Barbara Smit, who has written two books about the story, tells us about the history of the companies.
