The cat that senses when his diabetic owner has low blood sugar
Kirsty has had type 1 diabetes since she was five-years-old, so it’s important for her to be woken when her blood sugar levels get too low. Charlie is happy to oblige, meowing and patting Kirsty on the face until she wakes up. The 20-year-old feline has come to Kirsty’s rescue more than a dozen times, and is now up for a national award.
Kirsty told 5 live’s Tony Livesey:
“I genuinely have no idea how he does it, he’s just incredible.â€
