Just how talented was Errol Christie?
Legendary trainer Emanuel Steward said Errol Christie should have been “one of Britain’s best ever” fighters.
Former European middleweight title winner Christie’s death was announced on Sunday.
He had been battling lung cancer.
Steward, who ran the famous Kronk gym in Detroit, said Christie “had the better” of sparring sessions against many high-profile fighters including Frank Tate and Milton McCrory.
Before Steward’s death in October 2012, he told 5 live boxing correspondent Mike Costello that Christie was “one of the best talents” who ever walked into his gym.
