Grenfell Tower fire like 'something out of a movie' - resident

Grenfell Tower resident has told 5 live the scene was "horrendous" with trapped people banging on windows and screaming.

The Grenfell Tower fire was like "something out of a movie" according to a resident who escaped.

Michael told 5 live Breakfast: "I looked through the spy hole and there was smoke everywhere. There was a fireman going 'get out, get out the house'.

Michael added: "I grabbed my little girl and stuck her under my dressing gown because of all the smoke - got my girlfriend up and we ran down the fire escape."

More than 200 firefighters are still tackling the blaze at Grenfell Tower in north Kensington, where hundreds of people are thought to live.

London Ambulance service said 30 people are receiving hospital treatment. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Andy Moore said the whole 24-storey block had been alight and there were fears the building might collapse.

Michael said: "I could see people in windows banging and screaming - it was horrendous. The fire was spreading up the side of the house like it was a bit of kindle that was being lit."
