Dawson: ‘Sexton has everything to prove’ in Farrell absence
Former Lions scrum-half Matt Dawson says Saturday's match against the Maori All Blacks is Johnny Sexton's big opportunity to impress head coach Warren Gatland.
Fly-half Owen Farrell has been ruled out after suffering a quadriceps injury in training and Gatland has confirmed Sexton will take his place in Rotorua.
Speaking during the Dawson and Mehrtens Lions show, the 2003 World Cup winner said: “He’ll (Sexton) know deep down that this is his chance."
