The young mum and daughter who both had strokes
Doctors didn’t believe Amy, 21, had a stroke when she was taken to hospital after being unable to lift her arms and feeling her face droop.
"The symptoms I was having were like nothing I've ever had before," she told 5 live.
A scan discovered a clot in her brain had led to a stroke and six months later, the same thing happened to her mum, Andrea, 45.
"In my head, it was only old people who had a stroke," Andrea said.
She added, "I just want to make women aware - it's any age."
The Stroke Association says there has been a 25% increase in 20 years in those under 64 having strokes globally.
Amy and Andrea have both made full recoveries.
