Paul Nicholas says putting 'Superstar' on the end of Jesus Christ upset a lot of people. Paul played the title role in the 1972 production of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Palace Theatre in London. At the time, the Tim Rice/Andrew Lloyd Webber rock opera was condemned by some religious groups, who staged protests outside the theatre.
