Why the card game bridge is now a sport
People who play bridge have been trying to get it classified as a sport in a legal case that’s lasted for years. Well now the European Court of Justice says the game should be considered a sport for tax purposes. That’s because of the brain effort it takes to play it. Peter White talks to Professor David Papineau about how much brain work should be a factor in judging whether something counts as a sport.
