'I cried hearing Doddie Weir's motor neurone disease diagnosis'
John Bentley says he "cried" when hearing the news his former British and Irish Lions team-mate Doddie Weir has been diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
Weir, who won 61 Scotland caps, announced his diagnosis to raise awareness of the condition for Global MND Awareness Day.
Bentley, who became great friends with Weir during the 1997 Lions tour of South Africa, said: "I hope Doddie will be able to fight it and they find a cure.”
