The food bank that hands out tampons
New research from Oxford University suggests half of those visiting food banks cannot afford basic toiletries. One food bank in Brighton provides young girls with sanitary products.
Kate Tennant, a volunteer at Whitehawk Foodbank in Brighton, told 5 live: “We serve a lot of families on very low incomes some of who have got two of three daughters in their family who each need a pack each month so that’s saving them probably at least £20 a month.â€
