Ascot's Julia Bell became known as the DNA Detective after her search for her long lost grandfather hit the headlines. She told ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Berkshire's Anne Diamond the incredible story...
Julia Bell, DNA Detective:
"There was a description... I thought eurika. My grandmother had written this and put it on the adoption file, so we now had this information and it send me off to a decade of filling filing cabinets.
"I wrote to the National Personnel Record Service in Missouri, and I had to do everything through snail mail.
"I do think at some bar at the pearly gates we might have Arthur Garrett and his other GI pals up there."
