Why was President Trump's response to condemning Charlottesville racists delayed?

Heather Heyer died when a car was driven into a crowd in Charlottesville on Saturday. President Donald Trump has spoken out against racist violence but was criticised for not specifically denouncing extremists in his initial comments. Does Trump's delayed response suggest that these racists are his supporters?

Professor Joan Williams, author of White Working Class, told Justin that it is a "gross stereotype" to assume all of Trumps supporters were "white supremacists, neo-Nazi's and fascists".
