The manager of a garage informs a mechanic that is customer is worried about the exhaust emissions on her car and worries that it may be misfiring. He informs him a leak off test should be done. First he checks that the cylinders are working to full capacity with a test kit by measuring the fluid in millimetres – and the maximum it can leak is 5ml. He runs the car for 30 seconds to see how much fuel leaks and notices that 2 cylinders aren’t working well: 1 over by 2ml and the other over by 3ml. He then works out the figures as percentages.
