The Roman Catholic church in Ireland has recognised the needs of offspring of clergy who broke their celibacy vows, and has issued rules for priests who father children, telling them to face up to their responsibilities. But the Vatican has not yet acted to insist priests who father children should own up and contribute to their care. Vincent Doyle was fathered by Father J J Doyle, though he only found out about this in 2011. He told Dan Damon about his self-help website for those in similar situations called "Coping International".
