Shahnaz Bano鈥檚 parents were born in British India in the 1930鈥檚. When partition was announced her mother鈥檚 house in Patiala was attacked. Shanaz's grandmother and uncle were killed. Her mother was attacked but survived and after the deaths of her mother and brother she walked alone to the border to Pakistan she was just NINE years old at the time,and spent four months in a refugee camp.
