Charlottesville: The future of race relations in the United States

What next for America's race relations in the aftermath of the events in Charlottesville? A car was driven into a crowd of anti-racism demonstrators in the city, leaving one person dead and 19 injured. Anti fascist groups were protesting against White supremacist groups. Former US presidents George HW Bush and George W Bush have issued a joint statement which condemned "racial bigotry, antisemitism and hatred". Donald Trump condemned the trouble but faced criticism for not explicitly mentioning the white extremist groups involved in the rally. Pamela Springs is a former consultant to Republican & Democratic stateside organisations and speaks to UK Blacks Devon Daley about the fallout from Charlottesville
