Fly-tipping is increasing, and the Breakfast Show has heard about particular issues in Corby, Daventry, Northampton and South Northamptonshire. Council Tax payers in Corby paid more than £80,000 last year to clean up, and dispose, of fly-tipped waste. Daventry District Council says, it dealt with over 1,100 incidents of fly-tipping in the last year, while South Northamptonshire Council has had to deal with a spate of fly-tipping, some of it involving asbestos.

Hundreds of calls from people in distress are being dealt with by the Samaritans in Northampton every month, and the charity says the number is growing.
