Urdu film "My Pure Land" nominated for Oscar
British-Pakistani director Sarmad Masud’s debut film My Pure Land has become the first ever Urdu language film to be nominated for the Oscars. The UK entry is the true story of a mother and her two daughters in rural Pakistan who were forced to defend their land from a militia of 200 bandits. Sarmand speaks about what inspired him to make the film with the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ presenter Ajmal Hussain in the following interview:
