Rise in number of mothers with successive babies taken into care
Figures released show a dramatic rise in the number of mothers who have successive babies taken into care.
Researchers in 2014 identified over 7,000 women in this position in the previous seven years.
Their new research, adding in the next two years, found the number had risen by 4,000.
Today’s Sanchia Berg reports and Claire Mason from the University of Lancaster was the lead researcher on the project.
