How long is the perfect speech?
President Xi Jinping spoke for more than three hours at China's Communist Party Congress. But Mr Xi is terse and to-the-point compared to some. The late Hugo Chavez, president of Venezuela, once spoke for eight hours. Fidel Castro of Cuba managed seven and a half. So is brevity really the soul of oratory, as well as wit or is length sometimes justified? A question for the screenwriter and producer, and former speechwriter for Vice President, Al Gore, Eli Attie.
