Vaginal mesh implants
“I’ve spoken to women who feel like they’ve been cut down in their prime.” Kath Sansom who runs a campaign called Sling The Mesh joins Paddy to discuss vaginal mesh implants. Kath had an implant that went wrong and was fortunate enough to have it removed. However, she says it’s left her with lasting damage.
Vaginal mesh implants are inserted into people who have stress incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, usually after they have given birth. Complaints have been raised about some potentially harmful effects and women across the country are considering legal action.
There are calls for an inquiry into the implants which have caused pain and disability.
