Why switching mobile phone company will soon be easier
Mobile phone companies could soon be facing new rules on how they sell to us. The regulator Ofcom plans to bring in reforms to make it easier to switch by the end of 2017. The key change is that mobile customers would no longer have to speak to the company they want to leave. Ofcom says this is one of the major hurdles for people wanting to switch. At the moment customers wanting to port their number to a new provider have to rely on the company they're leaving to supply them with a unique access code. Winifred Robinson speaks to Ernest Doku, uSwitch.com's resident tech expert.
