Remembrance: A veteran's story
A World War Two veteran has spoken to 5 live Breakfast about his memories of evading capture from German forces in 1944.
Len Manning, who is now 93, told Nicky Campbell how after his plane had been shot down and he landed behind enemy lines, he was saved from capture by members of the French resistance.
"One afternoon I walked into the cafe and there was some straggling German's in there... fortunately we got away with it."
