Former Ashes-winning captain Michael Vaughan has given current skipper Joe Root some advice for mentally preparing his side for the challenges that await in Australia.

On their previous tour Down Under England suffered a 5-0 whitewash, but Vaughan warned that Root "must not to put the fear of life鈥� into his inexperienced side ahead of the "cauldron" of Brisbane.

鈥淚t鈥檚 still twenty-two yards and it鈥檚 still a human delivering the ball. Deliver the basics of the game and see where it takes you. If you do that, you鈥檝e got a chance,鈥� he added.
