Josh Homme tells Elizabeth Alker he'll appear at benefit show

Josh Homme will appear at Bataclan victim charity gig

Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has spoken exclusively to 6 Music News about the surprise announcement he'll appear at a special benefit gig next weekend.

The show is called A Peaceful Noise and it is organised in aid of The Nick Alexander Memorial Trust. Nick Alexander tragically lost his life while he was working with Eagles of Death Metal at their show at The Bataclan Theatre, which was targeted by terrorists during the attacks on Paris in November 2015.

Nick's sister, Zoe, has founded the memorial trust and money raised goes towards funding musical equipment and instruments for small charities and community groups across the UK. It's a cause close to Josh Homme's heart since he was an original member and is a close friend of Eagles of Death Metal. He joined EODM when they returned to play the Bataclan in February 2016.

Next week's A Peaceful Noise gig takes place at the University of London Union on Saturday the 25th of November. Acts already confirmed to play include False Heads, Frank Turner and Band of Skulls.

Proceeds from the show will also go to Josh's charity, The Sweet Stuff Foundation, which is dedicated to giving assistance to career musicians, recording engineers and their families struggling with illness and disability.

Josh's band Queens Of The Stone Age are currently on a sold out world tour supporting their UK number one album Villains. They play Wembley Arena on the 18th of November 2017, Manchester Arena on the 19th November, The O2 London on the 21st of November and Usher Hall in Edinburgh on the 23rd of November.
