MP with stillborn son welcomes investigations
Conservative MP Will Quince, whose son suffered from a rare condition and was stillborn, has welcomed a proposal to allow coroners to investigate what went wrong.
Currently coroners can only investigate deaths of babies who show signs of life after being born (apart from in Northern Ireland where coroners do investigate stillbirths).
Now the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt has pledged to look at allowing families of babies who are stillborn or suffer life-changing injuries during birth to be offered the investigation.
