Management at Northampton General Hospital say the pressures there mean that they are spending £1-million on care-home places to help discharge patients more quickly. They say that every morning all the hospital's beds are full, leaving staff struggling to find places for around 30 more patients. The Chief Executive of the hospital says the pressure on the hospital is greater than she's ever seen before.
