Can Yam help Nigeria help it recover from losing oil revenues?

Nigeria is Africa's number one producer of oil and has the 2nd largest oil reserves. The fall in the worldwide price in oil has led to a fall in income in recent years. Could the shortfall be solved by the country turning to the production of Yam instead?
