Planning the task
Harry, an apprentice carpenter, has to get roof trusses loaded up onto a new house. Before he can do that he has to know how many are needed. He must work out how many times he can fit roof trusses onto a 5.3m stretch of wall if all the roof trusses are 600mm apart – remembering to leave room for the chimney, too. He draws a diagram, brought to life with dynamic on-screen graphics, to help explain and solve the problem. Graphics transfer his drawing to the real life setting. Finally, we see the roof trusses in place.
