NHS chief: 'Crisis is when no plan in place'
Tens of thousands of non-urgent NHS operations and procedures in England may be deferred until 31 January, due to winter pressures.
Head of acute care for NHS England, Keith Willett, said this did not mean the service was in crisis. He said they have a plan in place but may need to take the decision to postpone more operations in the future.
